Spoke too soon....

Re. the previous post - having confessed to suffering from catastrophising  tendencies, yet acknowledging that in fact none of my worst fears tend to happen really,, of course fate was bound to come along and sink its fangs into my arse. Guess what? When vacating our pitch at Camping  Marjol this morning I backed Maisy straight into my next door neighbour's Volvo SUV.

It was only a gentle crunch, but enough to smash his rear lights and leave a little scrape on the car's side panel. Maisy is slightly dented too. Amazingly the rear side light which ended up at right angles to the way it should be still functioned. We bent it back, then straightened out the rear panel trim by thumping it with a tyre iron. Apart from having to secure everything with a few bits of strategically placed duck-tape, we're ready to go. Insurance details have been exchanged, claim help-lines rung. The very helpful Kelly from Aviva advised that if the van is OK to drive we can leave it taped-up until we get back in April and get it fixed then. Which is probably what we will do. There goes at least some of our no claims bonus and we'll cop for the £200 excess. Bollocks!

Here are the gruesome photos:

Ouch!

Blimey! all the lights still work.

Ah, the wonders of duck tape!

Let's hope it holds together until April.
.In all honesty what has happened is really a glitch rather than a catastrophe -  bloody annoying though, especially when you have no one to blame but yourself.

Otherwise it's been a good couple of days and here are the pictures to prove it.

The marina, Guardamar del Segura

The esplanade, sunny - but chilly.

View from the table...

Free choc with the coffee - always good.

Patatas bravas & patatas aoli...good for the soul, bad for the waist-line!
